What is it? |
Trax Report is a weekly country music chart of the 100
songs getting the most spins on 100 Canadian country radio stations. We list
this week's position,
last week's position, song title, artist, label, number of spins reported
(including spins per song per station), and weeks on the chart. Other
features include the 5 songs that gained the most spins from the previous
week ('Hotshots'), the song that had the most spins in its first week entering
the database ('Headstarter'), a listing of new releases as
reported by record companies, as well as a listing of the stations used
to compile the chart.
|
Why is Trax Report necessary? |
Until Trax Report, most Canadian stations were
not included in a chart reporting system, making it difficult
to get a sense of national and regional airplay. Trax Report changed all
that!
Working
with 100 stations across Canada, we developed a system to report on the most
stations with the greatest accuracy. Now artists, managers, labels, and associations
have the barometer to measure what's happening with artists on Canadian
airwaves.
|
How is the chart compiled? |
Trax Report is compiled from actual play and spin lists submitted by 100 reporting stations. The spins are totaled into a national chart that is posted on Trax Report on a weekly basis. Each chart position and total spins can be substantiated by "drilling-down" at the click of a mouse. Trax Report offers a reconciled account of radio play from the most stations across Canada.
